John Atkinson Grimshaw, born in Leeds, after some success, he later had enough money to a rent a property in Scarborough. His paintings were mainly of landscapes and street scenes, the docks in London, Liverpool, Glasgow and Leeds. His incredible ability was to put atmosphere into pictures.
